“Mom?” a boy called from the hall.
A woman brushed away the tears that had stained her cheeks. She let out a deep breath and composed herself. “I’m in the sitting room.”
A head of cropped, black hair poked inside the door, “Is everything alright? I thought that I heard you crying.” He caught sight of the envelopes in his mother’s hands, “What’s that?”
“Go get your brothers; I don’t know if I can say this more than once.”
The young man nodded and turned on his heel. He found his older brothers in the kitchen discussing how their days went while munching on som
I was vaguely aware of sand getting blown across my skin. My head was pounding as if it had been trampled by an elephant. My eyes slowly opened and I was immediately blinded; I squinted up at the sky, willing my eyesight to adjust faster.
There were four other figures lying nearby, but their faces were blurry. No wonder I can’t see, I thought as I felt the ground around me, where are my glasses? It took a few minutes, but I did eventually find them. I pushed myself to my feet and immediately began to inspect myself. My legs and arms were slightly burnt, nothing that I can’t deal with, but other than that I was fine. My gaze fell

300 Word Challenge: I Did What I Had To
I lay here and think about how I let everyone down, If my father was here, he would tell me that he knew that my career choice would be the end of me. My mother would cry out about how I was too young for this about how I was suppose to have a prosperous life, about how I was suppose to give her eight grandchildren. I can picture how she would react when the news get to her. She will deny it. At first. Eventually she will realize that what she was told was not some cruel joke. I'm sorry mother, but this was necessary.
My husband is here next to me but there is no hope. I can see it on his face, he knows exactly what's happening.

"Take up the white man's burden,"
Yes, Uncle Sam, oh do!
But why seek other countries
Your burdens to renew?
Great questions here confront you.
Then, too, we have a past
Don't pose as a reformer!
Why, nations look aghast!
"Take up the white man's burden,"
But try to lift up the true.
Recall the poor wild Indian
Whom ruthlessly you slew.
Ignoble was our treatment,
Ungenerous we dealt
With him and his hard burden,
'Tis known from belt to belt.
"Take up the white man's burden,"
The negro, once our slave!
Boast lightly of his freedom,
This problem still is grave.
We scoff and shoot and lynch him,

Unsure about this new person, I asked forcefully, "Who are you?"
He gave a soft chuckle, "With all of your travels, you would've thought that you have heard of me at some point." I kept my face even and the man frowned slightly. "Obviously you haven't heard of me. Very well, I am Master Hand, the master of this mansion. I have asked you to come here because I thought that it would be good for some of the brawlers to learn that there are more powerful forces out there. Although, now that you are here, I see that you are more different than the brawlers than I had anticipated. Do you truly not know if you are good or bad?"

After the third world war, I decided to lay low for a time. It is now half way through the twenty first century and people are starting to become suspicious about the possibility of immortality. Government officials posted notices around every city, stating that any person who possess immortal traits are to be reported to the police. The police have been granted the power to take custody of anyone with these traits. My irritation with the government and their insolence has grown since the enactment of this law. I have decided to leave for a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
I quickly pack all of my belongings into my void.

Daughter of the Hero Chapter 2
After an hour of riding, the pair stopped at Lake Hylia to let the horses rest for a short time while they ate. "Dad," Katsumi began, "how do you manage to keep a clear head when you battle and when you duel?"
"I focus on why I am fighting, not the skill level of my opponent or myself."
"How do you keep fighting when you are injured as if nothing happened?"
"I don't really notice the wounds until after the battle and adrenaline are finished. Asides, I have a very high pain tolerance."
"Oh...I don't have that level of focus or tolerance." she muttered glumly.
Link chuckled softly, "It is to be expected, young one, but you are progre

I have absolutely no idea when the last time I was on here. I just know that when I got on here I had over 10,000 messages...mmhmm yeah...
I had spontaneous inspiration (that's what I'm going to call it) for Curious Dealings and I changed a lot of details...so I may just end up deleting what is on here and I may not post the updated version.
We had a Halloween dress up day at school today and I dressed up as Princess Zelda from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The costume was completely homemade and turned out pretty well. :)
Went back to school 16 days ago and it seems to me that they are all the type of teacher that gets right to work teaching. None of that useless crap that most teachers do, or lack there of, where we just sit in the class and do nothing. Yes I am one of those weird kids that actually like school. However, if we are wasting time (i.e. busy work, getting off topic, pep rallies), I absolutely hate it.
